November 7, 2012: McKay Managers Receive Industry Awards
Jada Hilyer, Director of Operations and Training and Senior Association Manager, received the Volunteer of the Year award and Morgan Place, Association Manager, received the Rising Star award recently at the Community Associations Institute’s (CAI) Alabama Chapter Annual Meeting on November 7 at the Ross Bridge Renaissance Hotel in Hoover, Alabama.
In addition to receiving the Volunteer of the Year award on November 7, Jada Hilyer was elected to serve as the treasurer for a 3-year-term on the CAI Alabama Chapter Board of Directors.
October 24, 2012: Third Annual Appreciation Lunch
McKay Management held its Third Annual Appreciation Lunch on October 24, 2012 to thank association board members for trusting McKay to provide management services to their associations and to thank association vendors for all they do for the communities that McKay manages.
A Fish Fry was held outside in front of the McKay office building. Many board members and vendors as well as Senior Vice President George Skrbin and Social Media Director Tod Meisner attended the event and enjoyed great food, fall games and conversations on a beautiful fall day.
During the event, Joe McKay was able to present a check from Associa Cares to Linda Gardner whose house burned down on September 26.
Associa Cares is a national nonprofit 501(c)3 organization created to assist families and communities in crisis as a result of natural and man-made disasters. Through donations provided at fundraising events across the country, Associa Cares is able to provide necessary goods and services to the families affected by these types of tragedies. August 8, 2012: National Night Out at Park Lake
The Park Lake Neighborhood in Montgomery participated in this year’s National Night Out on Tuesday, August 8th. The event was a huge success! Around 80 people showed up. A representative from the City of Montgomery Police Department was present and provided great tips on making the Park Lake neighborhood safer. The Associa mascot Scout was a big hit with the kids!
August 5, 2012: Scout visited Savannah Pointe
Scout, our mascot, visited Savannah Pointe's Summer Party last Sunday, August 5th. Children learned about safety and there were also games and prizes.The Kona Ice truck that gave out free treats was also a big hit.

May 10, 2012: 4th Annual Habitat for Humanity Day
On May 10, 2012 several McKay employees worked on a Habitat for Humanity home in the Wylam neighborhood of Birmingham and doing last minute projects that gave the finishing touches to the future home of the Abercrombie family. The finished home was dedicated to Abercombies the following Monday, May 14. This is the fourth year that McKay Management has joined forces with Habitat for Humanity.

May 2-5, 2012: 2012 CAI National Conference / Congratulations to Jada Hilyer
McKay Management attended this year's National Conference of the Community Associations Institute May 2-5 in Las Vegas to meet with community association volunteer leaders, management companies, managers and business partners to exchange ideas and experiences and learn about new technologies and ways to better serve community associations.
Jada Hilyer was celebrated at this conference with other community association managers who have also recently earned the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation.
Jada Hilyer is one of more than 1,600 managers nationwide who have earned the highest level of professional recognition in the community association field.
February 6, 2012: James Jones Appointed as Maintenance Supervisor
We are pleased to announce the addition of James Jones as our new Maintenance Supervisor. He will oversee the entire maintenance division for McKay managed communities.
Jones has been a community management maintenance professional for more than seven years. Previously, he gained experience through the operation of his personal maintenance service company, The Brade Group.

October 5, 2011: McKay volunteers at Calera Acts of Kindness
McKay Management staff volunteered at the Calera Acts of Kindness on October 5th, 2011 and helped sort donated clothing for men, women and children for the 2011 winter season that were given away to neighbors in need at the Calera National Guard Armory on October 8th, 2011.

September 27, 2011: Jada Hilyer earns Top Industry Professional Designation
Jada Hilyer, Senior Association Manager at McKay Management, recently joined the elite group of community association managers who have earned the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation from Community Associations Institute (CAI). Jada Hilyer is one of more than 1,600 managers nationwide who have earned the highest level of professional recognition in the community association field.
To earn the PCAM designation, managers must have five years of community association management experience and complete more than 100 hours of course work. In addition, PCAM designees must fulfill continuing education and service requirements and adhere to a code of ethics.April 30, 2011: McKay supports CAI
McKay Management is a member and strong supporter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and the CAI Alabama Chapter. At this year's Celebrate Hoover Day, McKay staff was among the volunteers promoting CAI and its great resources for strong community associations in Alabama. The CAI Alabama Chapter holds bi-monthly luncheons and offers homeowner board member education classes.
April 22, 2011: Third Annual Habitat for Humanity Day
For the third time the McKay Management team volunteered for the Habitat for Humanity project. This time we helped among other things with the painting, cleaning and shutter installation at the new home of the Kadhim Family in Centerpoint. It was again a very gratifying experience for all of us and it was great to meet Mrs. Kadhim and her son Yahya at the end of the work day.
November 10, 2010: CAI Alabama Chapter Annual Meeting
At this year's Annual Meeting of the CAI Alabama Chapter on November 10, 2010 at the Ross Bridge Renaissance Hotel in Hoover, Brittany Newell received the Rising Star Award for outstanding service to the chapter through her efforts to improve the organization and Julia Boehm-McKay was presented by Chapter President Elbert Boothby with the Leadership Award for her outstanding chapter leadership throughout the year.

McKay Management attended the September lunch & learn which was organized by the Alabama Chapter of the Community Associations Institute. The luncheon was held at The Club in Birmingham. To help prepare for the upcoming budget season, this luncheon's topic was 'Budgeting & Finance'. Mr. James Hawthorne, CPA of Homeside Properties of Alpharetta, Georgia presented tips to making this year's budget season a success. We were pleased to help in the effort to rebuild the Watts family home. McKay employees were able to help paint, install siding and participate in several other tasks throughout our day on the build. We feel truly gratified to have helped on this project and are looking forward to working with Habitat again in the future!
